# Kyanite Audio Strategy

Updated: 2026-05-23

## Default Rule

Every exported short-form master must include audible music before it is marked ready to post.

Use original/licensable music beds for the universal upload unless Simon explicitly requests a platform-native-only draft. Platform-native audio can still be added manually later, but it is no longer a substitute for a complete exported master.

## Why

- TikTok says business/commercial posts should use the Commercial Music Library, including organic content. For Kyanite, treat this as the safe default.
- Meta says licensed music is intended for personal, non-commercial use; business accounts that cannot access that library should use Meta Sound Collection, which is safe for commercial use on Meta.
- YouTube says music added through the Shorts creation tools is handled differently from music baked into an upload. If a song is included outside the Shorts tools, it can receive normal copyright claims.
- The Social Auto-Responder local-file path can upload the video, but it should not pretend it can choose the best currently trending in-app sound unless that platform API explicitly exposes the sound selection we need.

## Posting Workflow

1. Export the package with Simon voice, captions, and an audible original/licensable music bed.
2. For TikTok reach posts, optional platform-native audio may be added manually through a draft flow, but the baked master must already feel complete without it.
3. For Instagram/Reels, use Meta Sound Collection or another track available to the business account for commercial use. Do not assume every trending Reel sound is safe for a Kyanite business post.
4. For YouTube Shorts, either use YouTube's in-product Shorts audio library during creation or a copyright-safe YouTube Audio Library track. Do not bake a popular song into the file and then upload it as if it were cleared.
5. Log the selected track, platform, volume, and post URL in `content-library/performance/post_registry.csv`.

## Volume Starting Points

- Voiceover video plus platform music: original audio 90-100, added music 3-8.
- Silent/near-silent visual loop: added music 40-80, depending on platform preview.
- If the music fights the hook, use no music or pick a calmer track.

## Decision

Simon updated the rule on 2026-05-23: every video needs music, and the music needs to be loud enough to be heard.

For current local-AI videos, lack of a baked audible music bed is a render/package blocker, not merely a publishing-layer note.
